Play Time

Bess now outweighs Connor by at least 15 pounds.  Good thing he moves ten times faster.

  1. And a great time was had by all!

  2. Don't worry, Bess is going to get the last laugh.

  3. Now if you also had a dog like Bess, I'll bet those coyotes would think twice about attacking the guinea hens. Huh, Farm Buddy?
Then Connor would have a full time pal and Farm Buddy would have an extra Bess for her nightly pajama parties.Just saying.

    1. I'd like to think that Bess would prevent such a tragedy, but it is important to keep in mind that Maremmas mature slowly, and it would be too much to expect an almost-six-month-old pup to take on a pack of coyotes. I have a batch of 100 chicks that will soon be going outside, and I have my fingers crossed that they will be safe, but I am not going to be thinking that Bess will be totally responsible for that. She does bark at foxes and coyotes, and I do think it is already helping, but it will take a couple of years before she is really able to handle this livestock protection job. I know Kris will be shaking her head because yesterday, we took all of the dogs for a hike, and it was quite a tight fit to get Bess, Scout, Kelsey, Connor and the two humans into her car, never mind adding another!!

  4. The prosh little round fluffy puppy suddenly looks so lanky and leggy! Both Connor and Bess seem to have gone from extra cute to extra gorgeous in a hurry.
(Kelsey, my apologies for calling you Kate a while ago...)

  5. Both connor and bess are getting more beautiful! Keep it up!

  6. The play antics may change as they grow, but they'll likely continue to be BFF's ~ enjoy, they are both growing fast!!
