All the News...

Ramsey is doing well.  He wore the splint on his leg last night and maybe again tonight, but that should be enough.  They are starting to hand walk him trying to get him to stretch the leg out on his own.  The really good news is that, barring any trouble, he may get to come home on Monday.  I can't wait!  I am going to visit him tomorrow.

Emma really wants him back as well. She is doing OK, but she is a bit depressed.  She has lost a little weight and I am watching her very carefully.  She is eating and drinking and her temp is normal, she is just sad.  Tessa and I aren't quite enough at the moment.

I have been doing things to distract her and get her thinking about other things.  We did some clicker training this afternoon because she loves that and I trimmed her feet because that keeps her busy and they were due.

We were very lucky with the weather again.  The Nor'easter missed us completely and we have actually had some rare sunshine.  I feel for the people downstate still suffering from Sandy and now this.  I am also so very glad it missed us.

I have a million things to do to get prepared for Ramsey's return.  He is going to need a lot of intensive care for quite a while yet.  I am battling bronchitis - it was inevitable, extreme stress always messes with my lungs - and my danged computer is acting up.  Or not as the case may be, it won't boot up properly.  I finally got it to come on this morning, but it took six tries.  I need to find someone who knows how to deal with the innards of recalcitrant computers.  Maybe I should take it to Cornell?  On second thought, maybe not.  My tab there is already running about $7000.   I think I'll just give the danged thing a good whack instead.  That works right?

I may take a couple of days off to try to catch up, don't be alarmed if you don't see me for a day or two.  I will update if anything important happens.

  1. So happy Ramsey is going home soon. I'm sure everyone at Cornell will miss him! Poor little Emma ... she does look sad without her baby. Everyone will be happy soon. Take care of yourself, get well ! And yes, sometimes a computer kick cures whatever ails them.
