Good Advice

Hot, humid, hazy with storms on the way.  Tessa has the right idea.

We're hoping to make hay at the end of the week, the weather people keep saying it's supposed to be good after tomorrow.  We shall see.  There has already been a great deal of hay stress and drama this year and we've barely even made any.  It's giving me a stomach ache.  For today, I think I am going to just try to take Tessa's advice.

  1. Good idea. Once the ball got rolling around here the hay started coming in like crazy. We have two hay sources and they have dropped their prices and begged us to buy hay.
We even had another fella wrap a bunch of bales so we won't have them rot on us.
    Round bales.

  2. Oh, Kris... there is so much hay here that many have not even done their first cutting yet! Keith and I were just talking the other day about how much was left in the fields (baled in big bales) last year, and how we
hoped that unsuspecting folks weren't being sold it as this year's. Two years ago, a lot of people here dumped catlle because of the drought... now we are at the opposite end of the spectrum. I wish you could get some of this nice hay.
