Sunday stills - Sports (sort of)

In honor of the Olympics, this weeks Sunday Stills challenge is "sporting events".  I'm afraid that the more traditional sporting events are in rather short supply around here.  I haven't even been able to watch any of the Olympic games because I don't have a TV.  Still, a little bit of Olympic news has managed to trickle into my world.  I've heard that swimming is once again a hot topic this year.  Given the weather, it seems fitting.  Tanner always excels at this sport and the relay races are his true forte...

The diving has been providing a lot of excitement this year.  There has been a lot of anxiety and controversy over the design and construction of a new pool, but the swimmers don't seem to be having any trouble.  The athletes have been examing the new design and testing the waters.

You can see the absolute focus and readiness in this competitor as he prepares for his leap...

The stands are packed with spectators...

who are watching with rapt fascination...

Young Ramsey has been blowing away all of the competition in the track and field events.  His speed and agility have, in fact, proven to be too much of a challenge for the photographer.  Luckily, he and Emma are also competing for the highly coveted prize of synchronized napping...

Their symmetry is just a bit off, which I'm sure will cost them a few points...

but their overall performance is just stunning.  I am sure this will be a gold medal moment for them...
