Aerobics Instructor
I know a number of people have questions about Tanner, but I just cant bear to talk about it any more just now. The only way I know to survive such lose is to channel it into something useful. I'm doing a lot of riding, gardening, cleaning, working. I will answer questions and write about it more when I can. Meanwhile, how about something a bit more fun....

"Hey kid, you gonna laze about on the couch all day? Why, when I was your age I was already your mom."
"That's not my fault Mom. Go away, I'm busy here."
"Sheesh, why don't you at least do some aerobics or yoga while you're down there?"
"Get out of the way, let me show you how its done."
"get those legs up...a one, a two, a three...."
"Form matters kid, it takes consistent practice to get balance....you paying attention pipsqueak?"
"Now, over one...
and two...
and three...
aaaaaaand rest. Got that kid?"
*sigh* Teenagers, they never listen.

Laid to Rest
Tanner
10/28/2002 -9/25/2014
Goodbye my friend.
Thank you, everyone, for all of your caring and support. I've had so many amazing emails and comments that I am overwhelmed. Literally overwhelmed. I simply cannot find the words to reply just now. I will when I can. I do want to send out some special thanks to FB and RB for all your help and support this week and to RB's husband who unexpectedly showed up with his excavator to help me lay Tanner to rest properly. Thank you, all of you, from the bottom of my broken heart.

Bad News
My dog is sick. Actually, he is dying. He was fine last week, but started not wanting to eat and following me too closely on our walks. Yesterday, we went to the vet. Tanner was very well behaved, which scared the crap out of me. Tanner hates the vet. The blood-work came back unequivocally bad. He is in full renal failure. He is getting medicine and fluids. They are not helping. He has gone from seemingly completely healthy to dying before my eyes in a matter of hours. He will be gone soon and will take half my soul with him.

Guess that color...
This week's Sunday Stills Challenge is a color challenge. It should be pretty easy to guess that color:)

Therapeutic Riding
Tessa and Bailey are getting along quite well so far. There is intense interest on both sides, but both of these young mares are behaving beautifully. They are very aware of each other and would clearly like to "talk" a lot more than they have been allowed to. There is so much subtle discussion going on despite our interference. I always wonder what horses are really saying to each other, especially when they first meet. The part we humans manage to catch is such a tiny sliver of a very deep conversation.
Regardless of what the girls had to say to each other, we had a lovely ride this afternoon. It was much appreciated.

Random Stuff
I haven't found much time for the blog this week. I've been arguing with the tractor again, fixing fences torn down by deer, overworked at work and battling headaches. I did stumble on this article that any of you out there dealing with autoimmune diseases may find interesting....
....and some random shots in the camera this week. Tomorrow is another day.
