Hello, I am milking my cow, Jane, twice a day by hand. It is a lot of work, but she is quite cooperative. She is actually an Ayrshire. You can see me milking her in the background of the fifth picture. Jane is red and white. The one that looks like a Holstein is Violet, and she is actually half Hereford. She is the one that just calved the other day in the thunderstorm. Violet only has one quarter that works. She has a very funky udder, and it always looks extremely weird when she first calves. Those are some mighty nice looking lambies, but uh oh, if your lilac is blooming...ours must have gotten completely toasted by frost :-(. Was holding out hope...
Oh, looks like you had quite the day! You have gone visiting right? Love the photos.
ReplyDeleteDoes your Farm Buddy milk the Holstein herself? If so, she's got her work cut out for her.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great time to be at FB's farm with all the babies. Bet she's happy as a clam - shirtless or not!!
ReplyDeleteMy lilac was pruned back last fall, but didn't survive it with last winter's cold. So much pruning to do this year.
