A Quick Question

If I put together a Dancing Donkey calender, would anybody be interested in buying one.  I think the price would be in the $12-14 range, plus shipping.

Shadow Play

I have a very busy weekend coming up and I am going to take a few days off.  If I disappear for a few days, don't be alarmed.  Hopefully, next week I'll have some time to get caught up and actually write something.  In the meantime, I leave you with some self portraits.

You know, I don' think my head is really as weirdly small as it appears here.  At least I hope not.  It was really cold and I was wearing a big coat.

That's my story and I'm stick'n to it.

Have a nice weekend.

The Burning Question

"Is he really behind that tree?"

Do you all really, really want me to answer that?  It is a magic trick after all and it might take some of the fun out of it.

Why don't you think about it for a minute, I'll wait right here.

Are you sure?

Super, super sure?

OK then....This is the absolute, honest to God truth.  Pinky Swear.

I was trying to get a really cute picture of Ramsey standing behind the tree with one ear sticking out of each side.  Really, it would have been a great picture.  Unfortunately, the darned donkey moved before the camera was fully awake and I got him peeking around the tree instead.  I glanced down at the camera to make sure it was set right and then looked up quick to try again and, POOF, Ramsey disappeared right into thin air!

There is only one explanation - Ramsey is growing into his SuperDonkey powers and has learned to teleport himself.

And that folks, is the secret of the Amazing Disappearing Donkey Trick.  Honest, I Pinky Swear and everything.  Would I tell a lie?

Perseverance Wins All

Sometime during my adolescent years, I was in a store and saw a billboard display that said, "Perseverance Wins All".  I don't remember where I was, when it was or what the display was for, but the phrase resonated inside my skull and has stuck with me all these years.

Even as a child, I knew and recognized that anything I wanted in my life was going to have to come from from my own efforts.

In the face of many obstacles, determination and perseverance are the two things that have always seen me through.

Because there are times when all you can do is keep moving and trust that momentum will carry the day.

Recognize that some obstacles can't be moved and determination is what it takes to find a path around.

Or under.

Sometimes, reaching a long sought goal proves to be a crushing disappointment.

It is those hardest of moments when the only thing to do is adapt, change course and persevere.

Random Revue

This week's Sunday Stills challenge was going to involve driving so I skipped it.  Instead, a few of the MANY random photos I have never posted.

When the donkeys help with the mail...

Every time I think I have found all of this evil stuff....

A small portion of my friend Noble Woman's garden crop.  NW is Riding Buddy's mom.  Not only is she a great gardener, NW is a world class chef.  Sometimes, she feeds me dinner.  Yum!

Earlier this year, NW earned her black belt in Tang So Do(???).  If I butchered that, sorry.  I'm not entirely sure I got that right, I just know you don't want to get in sword fight with Noble Woman, she'll win!
