Donkey Disneyland

Since I am a mean, mean mom and I keep taking more and more grass away from my overly chubby herd, I am trying to make up for it a bit by letting them play in the woods every day. 

Most of the trees still standing in there are the unpalatable sort, so I am hoping they won't feel the need to kill them just because they can. 

Even is they aren't edible, the donkeys love playing in the woods. 

I suspect this is the first time Al has gotten to hang out in the trees.  He was rather surprised at the concept.

But he has experts to show him the ropes.

A Visit With the Painted Pony

Tessa is still doing well hanging out with her boyfriend down at Riding Buddy's Place.  I'd like to say that she has lost some weight running around with the boys, but it isn't so.  She is still an honorary donkey when it comes to food.

Her beloved Hawkeye is also doing well.

Since he started on meds for Cushing's Disease last year, he has regained lost muscle, shed some extra pounds and, all-in-all, he looks fitter than he has in years. 

There is a new diet plan in Tessa's future.  She is looking forward to it:)

National Puppy Day

It's National Dog day and what better way to celebrate than with the new puppy. 

Could be competition for Connor one of these days...

In the meantime, little Ian is all he can from Uncle Connor. 

Including how to cool off in puddles...

..and ride in the truck.

He hasn't quite got the hang of swimming yet though....

...even if he does occasionally resemble a frog. 

Sticks though...

he's got that all figured out.

Along with the look that gets him just about anything he wants.
