I Got Work

I got a call the day after election day asking if I was still interested in a Contact Tracing job I had applied for way back in April.  I said yes and it has been a bit of a whirlwind ever since.  Last week, I got a promotion.  Nearly 20 years at the hospital and not only did I never get a promotion, they actively prevented me from moving away from my position because they did not want to lose me from that position.  Their lose.

I like the new job.  It is interesting, fast paced, I'm working with good people and......I GET TO WORK FROM HOME!  I hope I can keep working from home forever!

I know the blog has suffered extreme neglect and I would like to say that will change, but with this new job - something had to give and the blog took the big hit.  All of the critters are doing well and everyone was quite happy right up until we got 44 inches of snow dumped on us.  They are not to impressed with that.  I'm not too impressed myself, especially as, not only did the snow shovel fall apart today, but the snow blower went into complete system failure.  The electric start broke, one tire came off the rim, the auger quit turning and then the engine started smoking and all the oil spewed out the back.  I shut it down just before it started on fire and, in retrospect, I think that was a mistake.

But....it is OK because I get to WORK FROM HOME.  YIPPEE!

  5. Congratulations to you. What a relief. I really was hating that you didn't have one.
    Oh goodness, those doggies.

Yikes on the snow machine. 44 inches....no thank you very much. I hate the 2 or 3 inches we get once in a blue moon.

  9. 44" of snow is mind boggling to me. I have never seen so much snow. I am glad you get to stay home. Congrats on the new job and promotion. This sounds like a daunting task. And to be without a snowblower at this point and time. Gosh... Life can be difficult.

  12. That is sooooo exciting! I've been worried about you, all way up there, from my home the way down here in Oz. It is such a relief to know you and the kids will be safe and happy there, and you get to stay with them ALL DAY AND NIGHT!

  13. That's one heck of a lot of snow!!! It makes it very hard to do the important work of chasing frisbees.

  14. Congrats on the new job and the promotion. You are quite right ... Hospital's loss if they cannot recognize talent/hard work and take care of the Employees. Especially since health care is so much in the news these days (You did explain your job some time back. I work in IT for a reference lab and deal with many of the specialties from the data point of view).

I did wonder if you were going to be in the path of that snow storm. Wow, 44 inches and presumably quite bit of wind and snow drift too. Good to see all the critters are doing well. It looks like the donkeys have a little more preservation sense about snow (haha) Did Qilin figure it out?
