Speaking of Ben...he and Qilin are the best of buds, which is great because Qilin has already learned sooo much from hanging out with him. They play together every day and Ben has taught Qilin that it is not polite to jump on others, that you can wrestle and bite, but never leave a mark behind, that you have to ask nicely and stop when told. Best mentor ever. All babies should be raised with a donkey herd.
Qilin is charming, polite, mellow, inquisitive and very friendly.
I haven't done much halter work with him, but he follows me when asked, moves his hip or shoulder at a tap, picks up his feet, can be handled anywhere, is safe to work around, knows his name and likes to try to chew on shoes - with or without toes in the way.
The more time he spends with the donkeys, the more he copies their behavior, which is a good thing.
Wonderful. How great for you that he's turning out so well. A dream donkey.
