A Whole New Kind of Snow Angel

Some people say that Livestock Guardian Dogs should be raised only with the livestock and have minimal human contact.  We don't subscribe to that notion.

Extracting oneself gives a whole new meaning to the concept of making snow angels.

  1. Too sweet for words. When I take a flash shot my dog's eyes blaze with a green color. How did you correct for that?

    2. If you asked me how many I'd LIKE... every single one of them! OK, one would be enough to make my heart explode. If only... (if only I lived in the appropriate place... and weren't as old... and tied down by family matters...). Great big sigh--and thanks for the pix, Kris! Has Farm Buddy made her choice yet? Hope all of the seven sweet souls still needing the perfect home will in fact find it! Precious beings that they are.

  10. Just wondering: There seems to be one of those precious little doggie souls that's always a bit removed from "The Snow Angel Pile". If in fact it IS the same one. I keep thinking/wondering about it. Intrigues me - perhaps you have a hint/an answer for me?
P.S. Of course you wouldn't subscribe to the notion of minimal human contact! After all, you not only have a heart but also a brain!... (What C-ing Spots said...)

    1. I don't think there are any puppies who routinely go off by themselves. There are differences in personality that are starting to show. There is one big male who is very dominant and into everything and a small female who is kind of the runt of the litter, though she is doing just fine. If it warms up, they will scatter around to sleep, but if it is colder, they all end up in a heap. Sometimes, a few puppies will collapse in a pile, but one or two may wake up and relocate, leaving the sleepier one by itself. They are just 6 weeks old now and just beginning to be more individual, the next few weeks is when you can really start to see who is who.

  13. There must be human contact that way the guard their humans too. Lovely dogs, I've known one in our neighborhood who took care of looking after everyone on the ridge.
    We all loved him.
