I knew this from the moment (you described how) he picked you. ;) He is also very handsome and so-o-o long-legged, has a sweet face, and "reads" you all the time, apparently. He wants to know what you want him to do, and of course he is in the perfect home for a beautiful companionship. An exceptional hiking dog, at his age?! Kudos, Kris and Connor! And thanks for the wonderful post/news. All of my dogs over the years and the hounds have had to learn the pasture rules here too.
We have a very aggressive molly mule who absolutely will not tolerate strange animals of any kind in the pasture. I've found the remains of raccoon in the summer pasture!
Morris learned quickly to stay away from the pastures and you are correct, that body language really teaches them faster than we can.
Val Ewinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11773318159420863765noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1432762024762532275.post-35739045192743117512015-01-18T07:16:26.071-05:002015-01-18T07:16:26.071-05:00and this is why I love BCs. they are so trainable ...and this is why I love BCs. they are so trainable as long as you are consistent and clear. I don't think that a dog like Connor raised as a puppy needs a fenced yard. He just needs to know what the limits are. I think that you got a good one there.
